Born in Ohio, Emily first started dancing after watching her older sisters in ballet class. Always imitating what they were doing, she was enrolled in class and has not stopped dancing since. Eventually, this led her to start voice lessons and become involved with theatre. In high school, Emily attended Interlochen Arts Camp for three consecutive summers for musical theatre and also did a post-graduate year at their year round Academy. Emily went on to earn a BFA in Musical Theatre at Rider University. While in school, Emily performed in Bye, Bye Birdie at Goodspeed Opera House, her first professional contract. After graduating, she went on to be part of the National Tour of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella, followed by 42nd Street at Ogunquit Playhouse, directed and choreographed by Randy Skinner. Since then she has worked at Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre in The Little Mermaid, Singin’ in the Rain, and Sister Act, as well as in White Christmas at the John W. Engeman Theatre.
Currently, you can see Emily on the Broadway First National North American Tour of Back to the Future: The Musical!
Fun-loving and tenacious, Emily loves to create work that sparks joy, makes people think and grow, depicts the human condition, deals with topics relevant to today’s world and society, promotes acceptance, and is truthful. To her, collaboration, creation, connection, and community are just a few things that make this art form so incredibly special and magical. Through making honest work and art, Emily’s goal is to help make a better world and a difference, even if it’s in just one person’s life.
